Nile (24" x 32", oil on canvas, May 1999) The figure on the left (a female nude with a bird’s head) is the same figure I painted in “Lariat II.”  I often reuse forms that work for me, sometimes purposefully and sometimes they just find themselves in my paintings. What? You can't see the female with the bird head? Well what about the green hand? Surely you can see that. This is a really ominous picture, you know, the more I look at it the scarier it gets.
