Loon Lake

There are two figures in a kind of standoff. Exactly how they relate to each other is unclear. Is it a mating dance? preparing to battle? The ground is all soft and hazy and the two sharp-edged, red lines keeps everything else on the same plane. This is a little trick I learned from a teacher in Mississippi named Jim Meade. You’ll see other variations on this in “Viaduct” and other paintings pictured on this site.
