Dawn (34" x 48, oil on canvas, March 1999) The flying oval shapes across the top was a new form for me. Whenever I discover something like that I get excited about it and try it in subsequent paintings. You'll see similar flying ovals in the next painting, but it never worked very well after that -- too strong a movement, tends to overpower everything else.
