The Crossing
(32" x 24", oil on canvas, June 1998)The title refers to Cormac McCarthy's book by the same name, the second book in his marvelous Border Trilogy. A couple of things made me think of that. One, there's a bow legged cowboy (just like the one in "Lariat") and two, there's a horse (a sea horse, but a horse is a horse of course, of course).
